Tennis was debuted in Australia from 17th – 26th November 1905 as "Australasian Championships", now “Australia Open” as renamed in 1969. Ken Rosewall emerged the winner for Men's Singles championship at Australian Open 1953 and 1972, while Martina Hingis won the Women’s Singles in 1997.
